You will have a guided tour around SÄRESTÖNIEMI MUSEUM to experience the Arts and Culture of a well-known Lappish artist Reidar Särestöniemi (1925-1981). Särestö offers a peaceful atmosphere with a wide variety of Lappish culture; history, architecture, art, and way of living.

All this is represented by the unbelievable true story of Reidar Särestöniemi, a farmer's son who against all odds achieved a successful career as an artist. The museum area is situated in the middle of nature with its changing seasons. Take time, slow down, and feel the magic.


Arts Gallery Reidar Särestöniemi built his Gallery in 1972 because he needed a place where people could see his remarkable work Natural surroundings and the personality of the artist are at the center of the architectural design; the Gallery is also designed by acclaimed Finnish architects Reima and Raili Pietila.


The main exhibition consists always of several colorful and stunning works from Reidar Särestöniemi — the main exhibition is changed once a year, and smaller exhibitions in Studio and Old Särestö are changed every 3 months.

  • We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 14 days or less before the event.

  • We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 45 days or less before the event.
